The Insurance Company Will Tell You Their Offer Is Fair But Is It?

Some insurance companies and their lawyers are trying to convince workers the value of their permanency claims are found in a book called the "AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 6th Edition."  That book purportedly tells doctors how to rate "impairment," which is not the same as permanent disability.  Nevertheless, the 2011 changes to the Workers' Compensation Act tell arbitrators to take it into consideration when issuing awards.  That is not what the insurance companies wanted - they wanted your awards measured by this book, and it severely limits what you could recover.  IT IS NOT THE LAST WORD ON YOUR AWARD!
